Orman Paananen has a BA in economics and mathematics from the Universityof Wyoming and a Ph.D. in economics from Brown University. His research work has included energy security issues, economic and environmental impacts of magnetic levitation rail systems, assessment of the economic impacts of rapid energy and water related development in the Rocky Mountain region of the US, reconfiguration of the US Army ammunition industrial base, and analysis of the Marine Corps aviation combat element requirements for the 21st century.
