Orman Paananen has a BA in economics and mathematics from the University of Wyoming and a PhD in economics from Brown University. His research work has included energy security issues, economic and environmental impacts of magnetic levitation rail systems, assessment of the economic impacts of rapid energy and water related development, reconfiguration of the US Army ammunition industrial base, and analysis of the Marine Corps aviation combat element requirements.
