Undergraduate Graduation Information


Steps to Graduate   

Congratulations! You can graduate each quarter, but must meet these criteria to apply:
  • Have only LL 302 Externship, FA 303 Advanced Project, and LL 390 Summit Seminar still to complete.
  • Grade point average of 2.0 or above.  If you retook an SNL class, apply to recalculate your GPA.

1) If you satisfy these requirements, login to Campus Connect, Select For Students, then Apply for Degree Conferral by the deadline for that quarter.

2) Submit any remaining Independent Learning Pursuits and Transfer Courses to your Academic Committee by deadline.

3) Register in the quarter you are graduating for Externship, Advanced Project, and Summit Seminar.     


4) Arrange your Final Committee meeting. After this meeting, your Faculty Mentor will be asked to submit a phrase describing your focus area for the transcript.

5) Attend the Commencement Ceremony, held once a year in June, to which you may invite an unlimited number of guests.  See the latest Commencement Ceremony Webcast. If you intend to march in the ceremony, order a Cap and Gown online by May 1st.

Winter 2010 Graduation Deadlines 

Nov. 13 Get Academic Committee signatures on Advanced Project and Externship Proposals.

Dec. 1 Submit all Independent Learning Pursuits and Transfer Courses to Faculty Mentor. for Submit transcripts for new Transfer Courses. Submit complete drafts of Advanced Project and Externship Project to Academic Committee.
Jan. 15, 2010 Deadline to apply for degree conferral.
Feb. 5 Host Final Committee Meeting. Get final approval of Advanced Project and Externship Project.
Feb. 14 On-Campus Summit Seminar. There is also an Online Summit  that meets for three weeks, starting Feb. 22 through March 13. See Registration Information for registration for either option.  Download this document to prepare for the on-campus course.
June 12 SNL 2010 Commencement Ceremony, 2:30 pm, Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Dr. Students must arrive by 1:30 pm. No tickets necessary.
