Computing (BA)

This information is provided for current active students in the program. New students and returning students can no longer be admitted to the program.

The Bachelor of Arts in Computing (BAC), offered jointly by SNL and the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM), prepares students for a computer-related profession or graduate program in computer science.

Students with a background in computing fulfill degree requirements by documenting experience and ongoing work projects. Students with little computing experience can satisfy all requirements with courses. Students design their own focus area concentration that reflects both background and career interests or choose from 10 specialized focus area tracks offered by CDM.

The degree is earned after satisfying 50 requirements, written as statements describing competency. Certain competencies are met by specific courses or projects; others can be satisfied by relevant transfer courses or experience. All SNL requirements and many CDM requirements can be completed online or on campus.
