Undergrad Students Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for SNL courses?

Register for classes through your Student Center in Campus Connect. The SNL Registration webpage has a video tutorial on how to register, as well as quarterly registration information​.

How does my transfer coursework apply to my degree?

Students must provide transcripts to the university to be admitted to the college. The DePaul registrar will evaluate all courses upon receiving these transcripts. All courses that can be applied to your degree will be assigned to degree requirements. Any classes that are not assigned can be reviewed by the student when they take LL​250 Foundations of Adult Learning. See Transfer Coursework​ for more information.

Where can I buy my books?

Books for SNL courses are available at the Loop Campus bookstore at 1 East Jackson Blvd and online at http://depaul-loop.bncollege.com. See course syllabi​ for required books.

If you register for classes during the first week of the quarter, you are responsible for ordering your textbooks within 24 hours of registration.

How do I get my Campus Connect username and password?

Your Campus Connect username and password are mailed in your admission letter. If you have forgotten or lost your Campus Connect user name and password, call 312-362-8765 for assistance. SNL Advisors and staff cannot help you recover this information. ​

How do I apply to graduate?

You can graduate from DePaul in any quarter. A Commencement ceremony  celebrating all graduates from the previous school year is held once a year in June. You must apply for graduation, using the Student Center in Campus Connect, to have your degree conferred in the quarter when you finish your coursework at DePaul. Every quarter has a separate graduation application deadline. You will be notified by email if you are eligible  to apply. See more​ graduation information.

Is tuition different for on-campus and online courses?

Tuition is the same for online and on-campus courses.

How do I test out of degree requirements?

​SNL provides Proficiency Exams​ for the L4, L5 and L6 requirements. There is​ a non-refundable $150 administrative fee for each exam.

You can also take CLEP exams for certain degree requirements​​​.

What documentation do I need to apply experiential learning to my degree?

​You must submit an Independent Learning Pursuit (ILP)​ to earn credit for experiential learning. You learn how to write an ILP through several introductory courses that are offered every quarter. There is a non-refundable $150 administrative fee for every ILP submission.​

How do I participate in online courses?

​Every online course has a website you access through a portal called Desire to Learn (D2L). The website contains links to all course materials, assignments, discussion topics,  a calendar of due dates, and instructor contact information. 

How do I meet my instructor in an online course?

T​he week before a quarter begins is called Preview Week for SNL online courses. During this time, you are able to login to the course website and get an overview. Your instructor will contact you by email during this time. Please email your instructor if you register for an online courses during the first week of the quarter to let her or him know that you joined the course. Your instructor email address is located under Classlist on the toolbar in your class website.

Who is my advisor?

SNL students are assigned an Academic Advisor when admitted to DePaul. Find your advisor name and contact information under Student Center in Campus Connect. See also information about your A​cademic Advisor​​​​.

How do I defer my tuition payment if I receive tuition reimbursement from my employer?

DePau​l offers an Employer Deferral Tuition Plan as a payment option for students who receive tuition reimbursement from employers. See information about the plan and how to apply​

Can I complete a graduate degree after my undergraduate degree at SNL?

​Yes! The DePaul degree you earned through SNL is fully accredited and qualifies you to continue your studies in graduate programs across the country. If you choose to continue your graduate students at DePaul, you automatically qualify for the Double Demon Discount (among other alumni benefits)  that reduces graduate tuition by 25%.
